Imagine not having to stick your finger every morning, eating a delicious meal without worrying about much insulin you’ll have to inject or sleeping through the night without multiple trips to the bathroom and waking up feeling energized and refreshed. You don’t have to just imagine these things; you may be able to live them. For many years well-intended health care practitioners have told patients that Type II Diabetes is a life sentence.
Your Type II Diabetes may be reversed with the right approach.
Right now you’re probably asking yourself, why hasn’t anyone told me this before? Frankly, I’ve asked the same question for many years. So, I took it upon myself to find out the answers. My journey included countless hours of study throughout the United States, which fueled my passion to help those with Diabetes and other chronic conditions.
Where do we start?
We start by finding out when your condition really started, not just when you were diagnosed. You see, your problem probably started years before and it was called “Pre-Diabetes” or “Insulin Resistance”. You were told to eat better and exercise, but eventually you’ll have to take drugs like Metformin, Glimepiride or if your Diabetes gets really bad an injectable form of Insulin.
Now let’s talk about your Brain. My training in Functional Neurology has taught me that the Brain is a tattletale. Yes, I said tattletale! It will tell on you every single time. When you start having problems with sugar metabolism, the Brain will kick into survival mode. The Brain places top priority on keeping you alive and dropping what it feels are less important like short-term memory.
You know, you walk into a room and forget why you walk in there. Then you start having difficulty processing things like simple math or a job you may have done 15 or 20 years suddenly requires more thought. You’re starting to have to write yourself notes. Keep this in mind, when your blood sugar goes above 127mg/dl it causes brain cells to expire, never to return.
We look at the gut. Yes, the gut. I’m talking about the stomach, small intestine and large intestine. How you process food, nutrients and how you absorb sugar. If the gut becomes inflamed, if the gut leaks, you may not be absorbing the vital nutrients your body needs.
If you don’t absorb nutrients that the brain needs, the appetite center in the brain will make you start craving things that you normally wouldn’t eat. High carbohydrate and starchy foods that makes your waistline expand and the numbers on the scale go up!
Now wait a minute, did I just say that blood sugar imbalances cause weight gain? Yes I did. You see it’s NOT necessarily TRUE that your weight gain CAUSED your Diabetes.
Do you have cold hands and cold feet? Well, your circulatory system is like the super highway for transporting fuel throughout the body. If we start damaging the walls of the blood vessels, then we start losing circulation and our hands and feet become cold.
The circulatory system supplies oxygen and glucose to our nerves. If we don’t get that blood flow, that oxygen, that glucose to those nerves, then the nerves start shutting down and we can start to see a condition called “Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy”. That’s burning, numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, a debilitating condition. It keeps people from sleeping at night. If the fuel supply to the nerves of the eyes decreases your start having blurred vision or even worse, you could lose your sight.
We also look at your adrenals. Your adrenal glands are the STRESS glands of your body.
If you’ve been under a lot of stress for years, performing in school, a tough job, relationship challenges and more, your adrenal glands may be impacted. When your adrenal glands are under attack, you will have problems regulating your blood sugar, sleeping at night or having energy.
Everyone knows that the Pancreas plays a huge role in sugar processing because the Pancreas produces Insulin and Insulin is the hormone that allows sugar to get into all of your cells to be burned as fuel. If your pancreas is being damaged by stress and inflammation, then we start having a problem balancing blood sugar.
Finding Solutions at the Source
If we don’t dig deep, we are never going to find your cause. Now listen, I understand that I had made some pretty bold statements here. But if I didn’t have the results to back it up, I could not say them.
I know that a lot of people have been told by some well-intentioned friends or family members or even their doctor that this is as good as their life is going to get and I understand but most times, people are just afraid because they don’t understand you or your unique condition.
My approach is natural, conservative, safe and at the end of the day, I get results. It’s human nature to be a little skeptical or afraid. You should ask questions, but you need to understand that there is almost always a better mousetrap, a better way to get the results that you’re looking for.
You may feel that it’s going be “too hard” to change my life, some of my past clients had felt that way too, but once they started seeing their blood sugar, weight and medication levels come down, found that it was worth it! The decision that you’re making is not a selfish one. You’re making a decision that will ultimately benefit you, your family, friends and loved ones. My mission is to partner with you to guide you through this life-changing process.
My in-depth understanding of Neurology, Nutrition, Metabolism and Hormone balance are what allows me to get the results that I do. And as you’ll hear in the following testimonial videos from my patients, these results can change your life and place you a path towards a healthy life.
